A Young Adult Transition Program for Neurodivergent Individuals
Life Focus Transitions (LiFT) is New Focus Academy’s specialized program for young adults ages 17.5–26 who need structured support to move from adolescence into independent adulthood.
LiFT exists to answer a critical question:
How do we help neurodivergent young adults successfully launch into real adult life—work, relationships, and independence?

What Makes Life Focus Transitions Different From Other Programs
Life Focus Transitions (LiFT) is not an extension of high school and not traditional residential treatment. It is a developmental transition program focused on autonomy, responsibility, and real-world functioning.
Participants actively build skills in:
- Independent living and daily responsibility
- Executive functioning and time management
- Employment readiness and vocational development
- Social-emotional fluency and relationship skills
- Self-advocacy, decision-making, and follow-through
Support is intentional and gradually reduced as competence grows.
Real-Life Learning
Young adults at LiFT live in apartment-style settings and practice adulthood every day, including:
- Meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, and budgeting
- Managing schedules, responsibilities, and downtime
- Transportation use and community navigation
- Hygiene, boundaries, and shared living expectations
Coaching is embedded into daily life, with increasing autonomy over time.
Therapeutic & Coaching Support
LiFT integrates evidence-based support into daily life, including:
- Individual and family therapy
- Group processing and skills groups
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Social-Emotional Fluency and executive functioning coaching
The focus is growth and application—not pathology.
