Carter Munn

Teacher

Carter Munn brings a strong academic foundation in psychology and educational psychology to his role as a Teacher at New Focus Academy. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah, where he graduated as a member of Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology.

Carter’s path into education began with substitute teaching, where he gained over 150 hours of classroom experience across a wide variety of educational settings. He went on to work as an undergraduate researcher studying memory and cognition, designing and leading his own research project and mentoring fellow students along the way; work that earned him first prize at the University of Utah’s CSBS Student Research Day. He has also served as a teaching assistant, working directly with students to support their learning.

Carter’s research background gives him a unique understanding of how students learn and retain information, which he brings into the classroom every day. He is proficient in Spanish and is skilled at presenting material in a way that meets students at their level.
